Bachelorette Challenge: Gen 2, Day 12

In the previous chapter, three became two when Michael was sent home, leaving only Adonis and Gabriel. This chapter, Galatea will go on a Sulani dream date with each of the boys after which the final rose ceremony will take place and we will discover who has won Galatea’s heart.

I apologise in advance for the fact that you are essentially going to read through the same date twice. I wanted to be as fair as possible so I made Galatea do exactly the same activities with each guy for the same amounts of time.

Adonis is up first and Galatea embraces him in greeting.

Galatea: You look so good today, the sun really brings out the gold in your hair.

Adonis: Thank you. But, since meeting you, I’ve come to prefer silver to gold.

Galatea: Come on, let’s try out these swings before some kid comes along and hogs them!

It’s not like they’re made for children or anything…

Adonis: Speaking of kids, do you want them?

Galatea: Yes, I do. And I’m sort of obligated to have them whether I want them or not thanks to the whole legacy thing. What about you?

Adonis: I’d love to have children with the right person. I was an only child and that got a bit lonely sometimes. I’ve always thought I’d like three children so that they always had someone to play with.

Galatea: Trust me, having a lot of siblings isn’t a walk in the park. I have two brothers and two sisters and they can be so annoying sometimes. But, three kids sounds good to me.

Then I made them build a sandcastle (or whatever it’s called in the sims).

Adonis: I spent a good deal of my childhood making sandsculptures with my friends so this is bringing up a lot of nostalgia for me.

Galatea: I’ve never built a sandsculpture before but this is fun.

Adonis: Never?

Galatea: Nope, no beaches in Willow Creek. Do you think you’d be able to live in a place like that?

Adonis: I could happily live anywhere in the world if you were there.

Galatea: My first ever sandsculpture! Erm what is it? It looks kind of like a…

Get your mind out of the gutter, Galatea!

Adonis: It’s a gnome wearing a hat of course.

Galatea: Ah of course. Exactly what I was going to say.

I remember Vlad made this sculpture on one of his dream dates too and I made much the same joke πŸ˜‰ sorry bout that!

Vlad tried to do some long distance stalking. I made Galatea hang up on him though.

Galatea: Let me see: you’re kind, clever, unbelievably handsome… Do you have any faults at all?

Adonis: I have plenty of faults! And I wouldn’t call myself clever or handsome.

Galatea: Looks like I forgot to add ‘humble’ to my list of your desirable qualities.

Adonis: Well, I’m not sure about that but I do know that you deserve the very best and I would try to be the best that I can be for you.

Galatea: I have a bit of a bombshell to drop and I’m not sure how you’ll react.

Adonis: You can tell me anything.

Galatea: Ok here goes: you know how I said I wanted kids? Well, I already have a child. Her name is Clementine and she’s just a baby. My ex – the one who cheated on me – got me pregnant, but he doesn’t want anything to do with his daughter. He was really angry about the pregnancy.

Adonis: Do you need someone to go and teach your ex a lesson? Because I’d be more than happy to do that for you.

Galatea: It’s ok, my Dad already beat you to it. I guess what I want to know is: how would you feel about being a stepfather? I would understand if raising another man’s kid was too daunting for you.

Adonis: Are you kidding? I’d be totally cool with it! Clementine is half you and that makes me love her already.

Galatea: I can’t believe I’ve never been in the ocean before! This is so much better than the swimming pool back home. The water feels almost alive, you know?

Adonis: I know what you mean. The sea is the natural habitat of us mermaids, after all. That’s one of the reasons why I want to be a conservationist. I feel such a connection to Sulani’s beaches and ocean that I can’t bear to stand by while others pollute and destroy it.

Galatea: I can certainly understand. This place is so beautiful I couldn’t bear to see it ruined.

Galatea: So um you may have noticed that I have my father’s long nose in my mermaid form and honestly it’s kind of ugly. Does that put you off?

Adonis: *Splashes Galatea*

Galatea: Hey! What was that for?

Adonis: For calling yourself ugly. Never do that. I wouldn’t change any part of you, you’re perfect just the way you are.

Had to include this screenshot of Adonis and Galatea both diving through the water at the same time because it looks so cool.

Now we move onto Gabriel’s date. Of course, I had Galatea greet Gabriel with an embrace also.

Galatea: You have your hair down today. I like that, it really suits you.

Gabriel: Looking at you in that bikini I can already tell that this is going to be a good day.

Swings again of course πŸ˜‰

Gabriel: When I was a kid, my father wouldn’t let me have a swing because he said it wasn’t appropriate for vampires.

Galatea: Oh, that’s so sad. I’m sorry you had to miss out.

Gabriel: Actually, I didn’t altogether miss out. I was determined to have my way, so I set about making one myself. I found some fallen branches from the forest in the grounds and some planks and rope in the house and put them all together to make my very own swing set.

Galatea: Wow, you were a very resourceful kid!

Gabriel: I had to be, growing up with the father I had. But, I’m grateful to him in a way because without the impetus that he provided I might never have discovered my love of crafting things.

Sandcastle time again!

Caly: Hi honey! How’re the dates going? Want me to join you?

Galatea: Muuuum go away! I’m so sorry, Gabriel, I think she might be spying on us.

Gabriel: Don’t be sorry. If she followed you here it’s because she cares about you. You’re lucky to have a mother like that. I only wish that my parents had loved me so much.

Galatea: Oh, I hadn’t thought about it like that. But in an odd way I guess you’re right. It probably is because she loves me.

Caly: Does that mean I can stay?

Galatea: No!

Galatea: Awesome, a castle!

Gabriel: A castle for a princess. How apt.

Galatea: Oh, I’m not a princess.

Gabriel: You are to me.

Gabriel: I just wanted to tell you that you’re looking stunning today.

Galatea: Oh no you’re exaggerating. But anyway, I have to thank you for wearing that open shirt for our date. I’m very much enjoying the view of those muscles.

Gabriel: Aw shucks she complimented my muscles.

Had to include this screenshot because of how proud but also kind of bashful Gabriel looks in it.

Galatea: So um I have something that I have to ask you: how would you feel about being a stepfather?

Gabriel: I’d welcome all children my darling would like to love. Does this mean that you already have a child, then?

Galatea: Yes, a little girl. Her name is Clementine. I would like to have one or two more children, though. What about you?

Gabriel: Whatever my goddess wishes is fine by me.

Galatea: Oh I’m not a goddess – even on my mother’s reckoning I’m only a quarter goddess.

Gabriel: I have to disagree there.

Galatea: You haven’t seen my mermaid form before, have you? What do you think?

Gabriel: I think you look beautiful. I’ve told you this before but I’ve always been fascinated by mermaids. Such meserising tails and glittering scales…

Galatea: Hehe this tail is good for more than just looking pretty. Watch this *splashes Gabriel*

Gabriel: No fair, I don’t have a tail to splash back with!

At long last it’s time for the final rose ceremony! I decided to do it on the beach in Sulani as the sun was setting.

Galatea: Adonis, Gabriel, you’re both wonderful guys and I love you both. But, I’m only in love with one of you.

Galatea: My final rose is for…

Galatea: … Adonis. When I went into this bachelorette thing, my heart was broken and I thought I would never be able to trust, let alone love, again. Then you came along. And you’ve not only mended my heart – you’ve stolen it too. Before I met you, I was missing one half of myself and now I’ll never feel complete without you.

Aww poor Gabriel looks so sad! I feel guilty for making him watch this 😦 maybe I shouldn’t feel too bad though, since the real reason for his expression here is that he was thirsty.

Adonis: From the moment I met you, my heart was yours and all other women ceased to exist for me. I love you more than I can ever say. As the bachelorette, you have chosen me and I want you to know that I choose you too. I will always choose you. So, I have a rose for you also.

The only reason why I included this screenshot is because when I was choosing the screenshots for this chapter I noticed Caly in the background spying. I hadn’t noticed her there while playing this and I thought it was hilarious.

Galatea: Gabriel, you’re a wonderful guy: you’re sweet, compassionate, charming and of course very handsome. I have really enjoyed getting to know you and I feel so fortunate to have you as a friend. But, I’m not in love with you. I’m sorry.

Gabriel: I’ve seen the way that you and Adonis look at one another and I was afraid you would say that. But, Adonis is a great guy and I know you’ll be very happy together. Who am I to stand in the way of love? Don’t worry about me, I have the rest of eternity to find my soulmate.

Galatea: So, you really want to be with me?

Adonis: There’s nothing I’ve ever wanted more.

By the way, I think that might be Shannon (Candy and Keoni’s son) back there sitting on a beach lounger. Maybe he came to cheer his half-brother (Gabriel) on… Well, hopefully now he can cheer Gabriel up.

Finally, Galatea and Gabriel had their first kiss!

Galatea: Adonis, I have to know: will you marry me?

Adonis: Do you even need to ask? A thousand times yes!

I was a bit nervous when Galatea asked Adonis to marry her because sometimes if a sim proposes soon after having a first kiss, they will get the ‘but we’ve only just had our first kiss and now you want to get married, slow down!’ rejection. Thankfully, Adonis said yes though. Come to think of it, Caly also did not reject Vlad when he proposed to her almost straight after their first kiss.

Galatea: Ooooh I can’t wait to have a big fancy wedding and to make Clemmie a little brother or sister!

About that… You’re not having a proper wedding. Too much effort. But, of course the baby making will commence right away πŸ˜‰

Here’s Galatea’s relationship stats for day 12:

And here is the chart of her relationship stats for the whole competition (just fyi I romance and friendship points were both worth the same amount because it would have been too complicated otherwise).

I’m sorry that Gabriel just missed out, Pammiechick! He really built up his friendship with Galatea on their date but Adonis had a higher romance level. I still can’t believe how hot Gabriel is, he is definitely one of the most handsome male sims I have ever played with and it kind of hurts my heart that I don’t get to play with him anymore! Thank you so much for submitting him πŸ™‚

    1. Galatea couldn’t go wrong with either of them tbh but it’s great to have a winner (finally!) and I think that she and Adonis go well together. I have to feel bad for Gabriel too though, ngl I don’t think I’m ready to let him go πŸ˜₯

  1. Congratulations Adonis!

I’m so happy Gabriel did as well as he did on his date. He was eons behind so this was expected. Now we’ll get some mermaid babies! No doubts!!!

Galatea and Adonis looked so cute swimming together. They should move to Sulani!! πŸ˜‰

      1. I also love playing with mermaids in the ocean but unfortunately the legacy challenge rules say that you can’t move house so it looks like the family is stuck in Willow Creek!

    1. Adonis had been on two solo dates and two group dates whilst Gabriel had been on one solo date and two group dates so Adonis did have the advantage in terms of time with Galatea, that’s true. I think next time I might have a system where once a sim has won a solo date they can’t win another solo date until everyone has been on a solo date. Or something like that anyway, just to control the number of dates that everyone gets.

I’m so sad that I can’t play Gabriel anymore. I have to admit the thought of a polyamorous marriage did enter my head lol…

I wish I could move them to Sulani but the legacy challenge rules say that you can’t move house 😦 mermaids are so much fun to play in the ocean, though!

      1. Yeah…I went by the bachelor challenge guidelines and it gave everyone equal solo dates in the beginning and went more on relationships rather than luck of challenges. But still…we learn something by playing.

Hopefully you’ll take vacations to Sulani. I break rules sometimes if it makes gameplay more enjoyable (like relocating the homestead!!! Lol!) The creators of the challenge couldn’t predict the new worlds.

      2. I think I’ll try to do things a little differently next time, probably there will be fewer challenges. This was only my second bachlor/ette challenge so I’m still getting the hang πŸ™‚ I will have to let Adonis and Galatea go on a date to Sulani at some point! It’s such a beautiful world, I really love it. I may eventually crack and make the family move if I get too bored of Willow Creek!

  2. I was totally rooting for Gabriel this whole time (so smoldering!) but I have to admit that when Adonis & Galatea were swimming as mermaids together that that was it! They’re so cute together and I can’t wait to see where they take Gen. 3!

Also, I can’t believe you got me so invested in a S4 bachelor challenge when I’m so uninterested in them in real life. Big fan πŸ˜€

    1. I know what you mean about Gabriel, he is seriously hot. Smoldering is the perfect word for it! Ah well at least since he is a vampire he will live forever so I will get to see him around in the save forever.

Adonis and Galatea are cute together, especially since they are both mermaids πŸ™‚

Aww I am glad that you enjoyed the challenge! Thank you so much for saying that. I’ve never watched even a single episode of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette irl but I do enjoy reading about (and playing) the sims bachelor/ette challenges.

      1. No problem! I wish I had your dedication to legacies and challenges to complete them. And I think there’s something particularly ridiculous about Sims bachelor challenges that just make them really entertaining, because sims are generally just weird and funny ❀

      2. Thank you πŸ™‚ I don’t know if I’ll manage to finish this legacy challenge since I’m playing it kind of slowly, but I’m having fun. I still can’t believe I finished the 100 baby – never again!

  3. Congratulations to Adonis!
It is said that straight children play best and that could be the wisdom this time.
Their common dancing in the water was really beautiful like dolphins in play πŸ’˜
I’m looking forward to a whole bunch of little fish now … even if it’s only two or three 🐟🐟🐟

I hope Shannon will take loving care of his newfound brother tonight. ….Find a beach bar where they can drink some Bloody Mary, watch hula dancing goddesses and share the family stories they still have for good.
I think it’s going to be a good night 🍹🍹

    1. Yes, they looked exactly like dolphins diving through the water together! I love how mermaids swim in TS4. I didn’t play with mermaids much in TS3 but I don’t remember them swimming like that.

I’m going to let Galatea have three children and see if I handle that better than five last gen. Clementine already counts as one child so Galatea and and Adonis will only have two babies together. But they will be guaranteed to be little mermaids (how sad it is that children and toddlers don’t get a mermaid tail 😦 ).

Maybe Shannon will even introduce Gabriel to his future soulmate? I hope so. Gabriel is such a great guy, he deserves it!

      1. I forgot to mention how funny it was that it was the two guys with identical jackets who were left at the end πŸ™‚

Cheers to Gabriel, Shannon and the Soulmate I forgot existed 🍹

  4. I read all the episodes in one evening, it was really fun! I like how you write about your thoughts and also the lines of the sims. Galatea and Adonis looked great swimming together, noticed that also Adonis changes from gold to silver in the merman form πŸ˜‰
